Helps individuals of all ages regain or improve the skills needed for daily living and working after illness, injury, or due to disability. Conducts therapy sessions focusing on fine motor skills, cognitive exercises, and adaptive techniques, often in clinics, rehabilitation centers, or community health settings.
Aufgabenbereich:
Responsible for evaluating patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities as they relate to daily tasks (like dressing, eating, using a computer, or job-related activities). Develops personalized intervention plans that may include therapeutic exercises, training in the use of adaptive equipment (e.g., modified utensils, splints), and home or workplace modifications. Collaborates with families or caregivers to educate them on supporting the patient's progress and ensures all activities are documented and progress is tracked.
Bildungsanforderungen:
Completed degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy (Ergotherapie) with state recognition. Knowledge of developmental and disability conditions, and training in therapeutic techniques for motor and cognitive rehab. Empathy, creativity, and patience are key personal qualities.

Kernaufgaben:
Conduct intake assessments to understand patient goals and challenges; create activities that simulate daily tasks (practicing buttoning a shirt, handwriting exercises, memory games); teach patients energy conservation techniques and joint protection strategies; fabricate or recommend adaptive tools and instruct on their use; coordinate with physiotherapists, doctors, and social services for holistic care; adjust therapy plans as patients progress and document outcomes for insurance and medical records.
